Unit 1.4: Original Banner Layout Plans

The above sheet features a plan which I created while Ben was ill of what each of us would be doing to contribute to the banner. I tried to spread the work out as equally as possible, with Ben providing the info and pictures to the MEN Arena, Museum Of Science And Industry, and the Octagon, and with me providing the info and pictures to the Imperial War Museum and the Lowry, as well as the info to go with the introduction. Also, by this stage, Ben had finished editing a map of the North West areas in England to go with the intro on my side of the banner, and I had created a border full of images of attractions in the North West to feature on both sides of the banner. Below the plan is Ben's idea for the design layout of my side of the banner with the words "North West Scene" in different styles of lettering at the top, and overlapping sections of the introduction, Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North.

This was my original idea for the layout of the banner. It contains five different layout designs for the pictures and information concerning the venues that me and Ben had decided to include on the banner, and another idea for the map and introduction layout. The ideas were simple, yet would be easy to read with clear pictures and large text, and easy to read as the text was black on a plain white background. However, at the time, I did not realise that the banner would be on two sides instead of just one, and so I had to change my banner design once again after this.
